UNDER-18 MEMBERSHIP
We welcome all members at Bedford Harriers AC, however we do have some additional requirements upon us as we welcome under-18 runners.
Members who are under-18 can enjoy the following benefits:
- Participation in age-appropriate club activities – including club funded / subsidised social events.
- Use of stadium facilities on club nights when supervised by a parent or carer (e.g. changing / showers, lockers).
- Eligibility to compete as an affiliated member of Bedford Harriers at races governed by relevant governing bodies and access to any applicable affiliated club entry fee discounts (as determined by the individual race rules) – providing age eligibility and safeguarding criteria are met.
- Opportunity to marshal at club organised races (e.g. Doug Anderson 5k, Bedford Triathlon, Oakley 20) – when supervised by an appropriate adult.
- Eligibility for annual volunteers’ draw.
- Insurance protecting members against claims from third parties for injury or property damage.
Additionally, members who are 17 or over may take part in advertised coached activities, upon completion of a risk assessment.
