Bedford
Harriers

Bedford Harriers has been awarding both performance and contribution for the last 40 years. Each year, we award our Standard Awards, the Bill Steele Road Race Championship and the Award for the Most Improved Runners based on age-graded athletic performance.  Awards are also given to the top 3 males, top 3 females and age group winners in our Club Championship races, both for running and for multisport.

There are also Coaches Awards given by the coaches of each group to their Most Improved Runner and to the athlete that has made the greatest contribution to their group. Members who complete marathons, ultras or iron-distance triathlions receive commemorative badges.

Awards are also given to the Multisport Athlete of the Year and for the Greatest Contribution to Triathlon (both selected by the membership), as well as Outstanding Performance Awards and Special Awards where appropriate. Athletes who set new Club Best Times also receive awards.

Our top awards are the Martin Lambourne Award for the volunteer of the year (decided by our Race Directors), the Keith Hardy Award for Extraordinary Contribution (decided by the Club Committee) and the Iva Barr Club Person Award (voted for by the membership).

The awards for 2025 were announced at the Awards Night on 20 February 2026 and can be found here.
